Within my brain;

Useful beyond comprehension,
Connecting yesterday with today,
Today with tomorrow,
Joining heart with head.
But there...
In this joining of feeling and knowing
Is my pain.
I cherish remembering
The days of your presence;
Yesterday,
With its' promise and future.
In sorrow I remember
Your day of departure;
The separation,
The anguish,
The disappointment.
And yet, today,
I would accept
All of your memory;
All that I know,
All that I feel...
The gift of you,
Even in the presence
Of my pain.
